I just think our govt has to be WAY more vigilant with regards to flights coming and and out of the US and whatever dept is responsible for visas as well!!

I think posters often miscontrue the lack of acknowledgement in the OT as a snub, when really it’s just that everyone’s wrapped in an intense debate or conversation and sometimes overlooks a single post.

DIBS- it is her watch and by the same token, it was on Bush’s watch that even more attacks happened. Which is the point- there is only so much Homeland Security can do. Anyone in anti-terrorism will tell you it is almost impossible to plan for the individual. These organizations by their nature have no centralized structure and fly as much as possible under the wire. If you think its all that easy try doing it. I didn’t blame Bush for the shoe bomber or even 9-11 and the anthrax attacks because I highly doubt anyone could have prevented it. And that’s despite the Bush administration being warned of an imminent attack and a warning from the Israelis as well a few days before. As one anti-terrorism official pointed out to me, low tech is almost impossible to track, despite all our sophisticated technology. And someone else pointed out that the men who took over the planes were armed with only box cutters. What does that tell you?
