THL…those pics are lovely. He’s got the model eyes and chin so that face is a million dollars but the body can be found on so many gay men that you don’t even have to pay for it…which I’m sure she is!!!
Hey Snark, W magazine just did a photo shoot with Madge and her deelish Brazilian man/boy (sorry, slightly recycled man candy, I don’t have anyone else worthy of sharing, yet!).
mopar….I believe that interest rates will continue to rise unless we see some unexpected shock, which I hope we do not. The stock market is behaving rather well despite all the doom and gloom and that means that investors’ appetite for more risk is increasing. There’s a ton of money parked in US trasuries globally and as that appetite for more risk increases they will sell treasuries which will cause the rates to rise.
On another topic, I was at a book club Sunday and someone there who lives in Astoria claims her friend just rented a “nice” one bedroom apt on 83rd and 2nd (Upper East Side) for $1600. (Size unspecified.)
Another woman at the gathering said she and her husband have seen quite a few new “luxury” condos in the midtown area (54th/7th & 8th Aves) and prices are about $2400 for an 800-sq-foot one bedroom, terrace, doorman, gym, blah blah blah. She claimed she thinks prices will drop to $2000.
They all made fun of the NYT article on falling rents, said the examples of $8,000 apartments were ridiculous.
To carry over a question from the end of last week:
If I believe interest rates will go up by the time prices slide more than 20 percent in “prime” areas (for townhouses), making carrying costs actually more expensive than they are today, am I Team Bull or Team Bear?
And second, do you think interest rates will rise and when?
sounds like good advice. I’m on the sidelines for a few years though, after convincing myself that we’re a long way from the bottom. my interest is part academic, part work (credit mkts), part shameless rubbernecking, part obsessive over-analysis for it’s own sake.

Gee, joe- you fit in perfectly here! I’m partial to overanxious navel-gazing myself 🙂
ditto what ditto said re: Snark’s dittoing of DIBS.

Pardon, what did he say?
