2. Wasder – I’m in serious newborn withdrawal, if you ever need a sitter in a pinch, I’m very reliable, mom of two relatively well adjusted little boys, and am always in need of my baby fix! Especially a little girl. Awwwww.
3. BRG, the “keep your daughter from the pole” routine is probably one of my all time favorites. That and the “pump fat” line, with the fat, sexy black woman (as compared to constantly whining, creepily crazed about their bodies, skinny white women I presume). I nearly died.

Dec. 23 (Bloomberg) — Africa Israel Investments Ltd., the real estate holding company that’s selling a stake in New York’s historic Clock Tower, is planning more asset disposals to help repay debt, Chief Executive Officer Izzy Cohen said.

What, I agree with a lot of what you say and in fact I wonder what exactly this stimulus program will accomplish when there are no factories to stimulate, at least not around here, but about race relations… back in the day I grew up in West Harlem and there were no Asshats in Harlem, Fort Greene, Bed Stuy, Crown Heights, etc. The fact that the Asshats live in these places now, fairly unmolested, shows that indeed race relations have improved.
I remember living with a (Black) roommate in Willoughby Walk in 1972 and one night the G train to Clinton-Washington wasn’t cutting at at 4AM, so I ventured up onto Fulton and the hue and cry of get whitey was truly a funny thing (in retrospect). So I gotta agree w Benson here. Now you can walk up Fulton any time you want.

A site like brownstoner would have been unthinkable in the NYC of the 70’s, where one was not even allowed to post a “For sale” sign in front of their house, lest the “wrong” kind of people find out about it. Why does it un-nerve you that the composition of your neighborhood is changing? Hmmmmm?

Being born close to the holidays, Anna will eventually get jipped out of either a Hanukkah or Christmas present. She’ll be bitter that her parents conceived her in March….probably on the Ides of March!
