Dear cgar, Gemini10, and daveinbedstuy:
To the thread regarding Moishe’s Moving, I am sorry for the experience in 1992. I would like to remind everyone that since that event 18 years ago, a lot has changed. We at Moishe’s Moving pride ourselves on good customer service, and we train our movers to act respectfully and courteously to our customers. After all, we’re much more interested in having happy customers who use us again, than having a customer with a bad experience never use us.
I appreciate your feedback from your previous experience with us (18 years ago), as we’re always trying to improve.
I am in charge of Customer Relations for Moishe’s – so if you would like to get in touch with me, I’ll make sure your next experience is only good!
gross dont buy your cookware from craigslist, that’s just nasty
i got reprimanded when i first moved here when my roommate caught me washing a skillet with soap or whatnot. i had no idea you arent supposed to WASH them. GROSS!
then it hit me that my ex boyfriend almost hit over the head with a similar pan type thing that i washed and wasnt suppsoed to wash :-/
i only stick to using steel things that are washed these days and plastic when i cook myself.
and when i first started cooking i cant tell you how many times the fire alarm would go off. eventually i learned it’s best to cook when youre sober
I put homemade in quotes cause I bought the dough from the local pizza joint. And the sauce is faux homemade. I buy plain tomato sauce (the one with nothing in it) and add crushed garlic, onions, peppers, fresh oregano, and some spices.
I’m so bummed that it burned, I put veggie toppings all over the pizza. It looked really good.
I’m going to do it again and watch it like a hawk.
I like shell steaks. They are a little pricey, but worth it. I broil them and they’re always perfect. Just need to watch the timing. Again: Ask the butcher if you are in doubt!
If you use a London Broil, marinate it to loosen it up a bit. [This works with women, too! LOL!]
Find a good cookbook that covers cuts of meat, and read up! I’ll look for a good website for you.
Well, ladies, when it is snowing outside, I’m a sucker for real comfort food. This Eagle Provisions joint down here always has a perfect tied up fat piece of chuck steak. So, it needs attention (but it’s sure hard to burn!)
Mrs. D will be home around 8, so I better show the love thing… haha

THL, congratulations!!!!!!!!
I notice you only took about two days off from posting — a fantastic recovery.
Note to all: you don’t wait longer than a few minutes to see a doctor in Calif.

Okay, later.
ET,you do some funny stuff. You cook from scratch things that almost no one would do. So you got the soul in there somehow:-)
If you are cooking steak in a frying pan, you need one of the following:
-Sirloin
-NY Strip AKA shell
-T-Bone aka Porterhouse (minor technical difference)
-Rib-eye but frankly better roasted
-Flank is great but better broiled
Filet Mignon aka tenderloin, needs to be well flavored.
Mrs. D is a lucky woman! Enjoy, Mr. D!
BH is getting Pork chili that I made a month ago and froze! I did go out and get some nice crusty bread to go with.

I gotta run (to the kitchen).
Save the cut of beef for some other time.
