oh and another thing… gothamist people are laaaaaaaaaaaaaaame. the posts themselves are so terribly written, and then the comments are just so beyond stereotypical. barf. sorry for some of you who think im of that lowly calibur that i psot here :-0 i thought you like diversity? oh yeah, when it knocks on your door your shut the lights and hide those things called beds hahahah 🙂
why do people pick apart the areas i lived in harlem? jeeez.. i lived in morningside heights at first and then in yes, d., hamilton heights. yes there were some buildings on riverside drive that were co-ops and stuff, but my building was ghetto with a capital G. and well duh, i was in it. and that’s a good thing, not every big building should be co-ops and condos. walking up one block to broadway for a slice of pizza in the middle night ALWAYS got me in trouble! and not the kind of trouble like my butt kicked, or robbed, or anything like that… just trouble… i like walking outside at 3am and not getting in ‘trouble’ ok?
Dave, I’ve been drooling my eyes out (?) over that Gavin Young Maloney site for two weeks now. Absolutely unbelievable. I’m beside myself. Almost emailed him to see if maybe we should hire him, although of course we are out of money. Maybe I should.
“Rob, Morningside Heights isn’t Harlem, and 125th and Broadway isn’t Harlem! (It’s right around the corner from Fairway!) You didn’t even live in Harlem!”
rh, technically, Morningside Heights stops around 122nd Street, maybe 123rd. Nowadays some people may stretch it up to 125th the way PS gets stretched. But not always.
Fairway didn’t exist forever, ya know. Sayin’ 125th Street, any of it, ain’t Harlem would annoy some people.
Certainly 137th and RSD would be Harlem, then and now, altho of course more genteel along RSD. Unless you’re gonna break it out into a sub-nabe like Hamilton Heights.
This is New York. A lot of us move here to get away from mandated courtesy. Many of us really like the New York feeling that nobody’s special and we all can do our own thing. If you really want to live in a place where people politely do all you ask, you’re in the wrong town. So I recommend you move.
But if you choose to stay, you only get the normal share of the sidewalk, movie seats, coffee shop, restaurant, and bookstore aisle. And if you expect more…well, then on behalf of New York, may I recommend that you take your double stroller and go double fuck yourself.
“i have a standard answer for all those bitches asking for help with their baby, stroller, doors, stairs or whatever…”wheres the dude who stuck his d*ck in you?””

Dear Stroller Mom,
This is New York. A lot of us move here to get away from mandated courtesy. Many of us really like the New York feeling that nobody’s special and we all can do our own thing. If you really want to live in a place where people politely do all you ask, you’re in the wrong town. So I recommend you move.

Sincerely,
Your NY neighbor
Think Rob’s bad??
