Thanks, Arkady and Denton. I knew all tv was going digital and stupidly thought that meant it had to come through a cable. Just because cable can be digital, does not mean all digital must come through a cable. Got it.
“Cargar, I think I should add a pic of glitter to the PLUSA
page…it’s only fitting :-)”
Snappy, glitter up the page all you want, just as long as you keep the glitter away from me! I was boiling water last night and noticed a piece of red glitter floating on the surface. NOT kidding.
i dont think so snappy cuz there were flesh still attached to the bones. if they are still there tonight i will borrow a camera and take a picture! oooh it will be like playing CSI!
“I thought antennas were no longer necessary with the digital box converter things. Clearly, I’m wrong. What does the digital converter do? Why do you need it if you’re still getting signals from the antenna?”
Old TVs received an analog signal. There are no more analog signals being transmitted, only digital. So you either need a new TV that can receive digital or you need a converter box that will translate the new digital signals to analog for your old TVs.
However in either case you need a signal source. If you don’t have cable, your signal source comes from the airwaves. That means you need an antenna.
Call me next time you need to hook something up, else you’ll have a lot of trouble 🙂

*rob*
One last thought before I go…maybe someone tossed out one of those old anatomy class skeletons?
How big was the “femur” bone rob????
it looked about 7-8 inches i guess.
Sounds like a 25 lb turkey if you ask me
But any bone that’s 7-8″ would do for me!!!!!
Rob, it’s my fault. Over the weekend, I emptied some of the skeletons in my closet.

thanks CGar – although I’m now not sure whether to put it up or not as the criticism is bound to be harsh….
