Robert’s Steakhouse, Lap Dancers Raise Money for Toys for Tots
Dec. 7 (Bloomberg) — Robert’s Steakhouse, known for slabs of beef and cheesecake in the form of exotic dancers, wants patrons to donate to Toys for Tots.
The Manhattan restaurant, located in the Penthouse
Executive Club, has supported charities for the past seven years. At a fundraiser tonight, it will serve free drinks and cheese to those who donate $50 or more and offer them lap dances from staffers in silver gowns or elf outfits at the usual price of $20.
Penthouse hopes to raise $15,000 to $20,000 to help the
charity buy holiday gifts for needy children.

Ah, the days of USENET. the heart of internet culture as we know it today was truly born there. I’d like to either read or write a memoir of those years, when FTP and Archie and Veronica were my daily obsessions.

Personally I think it’s because we recognized the truth of her wisdom and were awed into silence. When biff or dibs kills a thread it’s usually because we too embarrassed to post after them. 🙂
