G10, I hear what you’re saying, and if they’re talented and that’s the way for them to get discovered, more power to them. But must they do it on an overcrowded rush hour train? Isn’t the overcrowded platform sufficient?
Gemini,
There is no basketball team. More often now, the pitch is : “I ain’t selling candy for a basketball team, I’m trying to make some money for myself, to stay out of trouble” etc..
I have given them money on occasion (rarely inclined to buy candy), they often seem like OK kids.
Rob:
actually some of them are legit and just have no means of getting their music out there to the public
take it from me, I work for a record label and know how hard it is to get a deal
so i commend those people who really have their music together going out and hustling to people on the street
you never know, you might give it to me and I will listen and try to get them signed
what’s wrong with that hustle?
You can do that. I wouldn’t complain. In fact, if all panhandlers were attractive women in provocative attire, I’m sure I’d change my entire perspective regarding this issue.

Does anyone know who Chad White is? A friend just sent me a link to pics of him posing (in very little) in the Time Warner Center.

I know, gem. The whole gestalt of the phrase was so repulsive, I always remembered it.
I’m gonna come to the Dec3 party with a disabled cat and beg for money.
There was no COTD today!
“I wouldn’t wear that out in public, geez.”
