[BTW, sorry if I sound cranky today. Aside from being Monday (already), I’m fighting an annoying coldlet, which is fine, really, so long as it doesn’t turn into Swine Flu.]
The statue is of a Protector Angel who is in fact weeping because he wasn’t able to save the soldiers that died in the revolution. Minsk had a lot of great architecture comparable to Paris and London but a lot was destroyed during various revolutions/wars. The only thing I missed and noticed from the photos is how impeccably clean the streets are. People never throw buds or anything on the streets. That’s the culture so all of the streets do not have any garbage once so ever.
Perhaps JScheff was tarred and feathered by the PLUSA Landmarking Council for not posting threads in keeping with the traditional Brownstoner aesthetic?
“Sosa’s claiming he’s getting treatments because of the years of sun damage he suffered being a ball player.”
That’s plausible…he did play all those years for the Cubs, who play more day games than any other team.
I always felt bad for folks in this sort of predicament, or who suffered from vitiglio. Must be extremely difficult to deal with medically and emotionally.
Okay, where can I find a contractor in Brooklyn to build me one of these?

Seriously, benson? (My guard is down – I’ll believe anything today.)
ROFL, Kens! That was good!
Maybe JScheff got recruited by The What to write for Asshathill.
I think that Jscheff had something nice to say about Fedders housing. That was a comment too far for Mr. B. and his loyal minions.
