  1. Legion- I think that’s kind of a simplistic analysis. The more interesting one is the very stinging rebuke of the conservatives in NY-23. The 2 gubernatorial elections were about local issues, not national ones.

joe- well, what were you saying, then? You weren’t clear. I didn’t think the Obama tributes were bad at all- I looked at what kids saw with his election. Hope. The classic American dream can be for everyone. there is no correlation with Bush, -they were always whaling on who was or wasn’t a real Patriot. Disagreed with Bush policies and you weren’t. Now that’s fascism.

  2. “you have to admit, NJ and VA are stinging rebukes of Obama’s economic program to date.”

Actually according to polling data, most people said Obama did not factor into their decision at all.

The democratic candidate in VA was not strong at all, and people in NJ are fed up with high property taxes and corruption which had a lot more to do with a former CEO of GS running the state (when main street America HATES wall street right now) than it had to do with Obama.

The really interesting vote was the one in NY district 23 where the two most talked about GOP Presidential candidates (among other talk show personalities) backed a conservative instead of the moderate Republican to then lose to a Democrat for the first time in over 100 years.
