dibs, I think I’m disagreeing with you on the car thing today.
First, while some mergers as you mentioned didn’t work out, Ford/Jag was good for Jag. Ford/Volvo wasn’t bad either.
But I especially disagree on the union thing. Not that’s I’m a fan of the UAW, no sir. But the problem is that American cars in the last couple of decades absolutely suck. SUCK!
You can’t blame these shit designs on the unions. Management has done that. You can’t blame quality problems on unions either (except assembly problems). I always bought American. Last car I had I got so fucked over by Chrysler that I went to Audi. Now that I’ve owned an A6 and a 328xi, I have a hard time thinking why I would want to go back.
Caddy CTS is a nice car tho.
