snappy- my first thought was, well where is the paper towel? 🙂 They have flower presses that use absorbent heavy paper like watercolor blocks,. What will you do with the flowers after they’re dried?
Seeing as most names have interesting menaings and derivations, how do you equate a Chinese name with an English one? I mean- yes, when they refer to characteristics, but what about names like Maude, which is a derivation of Magdalen? I can see how the names in my family were Americanized- except for my mother’s. Her childhood Russian name bears no resemblance to the name she had here.
Here’s an interesting fact. As you know, I work for a Japanese company and go to Japan quite often. I always run into a few laughs when I check into a hotel in Japan, because my last name apparently means “penis” over there.
I think my parents were stoned when they named me cobble! [Sorry! I can’t help it!]
“Yeah, I wouldn’t have named myself “Carroll”. You know how often people call me “Archie Bunker”?”
Yeah, I wouldn’t have named myself “Insert”. You know how often people call me “Dildo?”
🙂

Snaps, If you had asked me when I was 10 or 12, I would have said yes. But now, no, I’ve grown into it.

DIBS, you writing this down?
“Would any of you change your first name if you could?”
Yeah, I wouldn’t have named myself “Carroll”. You know how often people call me “Archie Bunker”?
Cargar, clearly that show’s writers are tapped into the OT 🙂 Talk about having your finger on the pulse of what’s hip….
LOL!! It’s a little like watching a pot of water, and waiting for it to come to a boil!
