We must have waited an hour outside and a half-our inside for our soggy pizza. Totally not worth it. I don’t get the lines. I don’t get the raves. I brought out-of-town friends too. Close to home, after some trial and error, I order brick oven pizza from Sal’s on Court (not their regular pizza which I find doughy and tasteless). It’s thin, crisp, not soggy, fresh ingredients. Haven’t been disappointed yet.
a friend from out of town insisted on going as they read somewhere it was the best in NYC. I grudgingly accepted, as I had already written Grimaldi’s off 4 years ago. After a 45 minute wait outside, and another 20 inside, Our pizza arrived, soggy and burnt to a crisp. Usually I’m not one to complain, but when I brought it to the attention of our server, he started lecturing me how I must not have ever had real NYC pizza before – that this is how it was supposed to be served. I laughed in his face and wished him luck ripping off tourists from Missouri
DH, are you talking about Grimaldi’s near the Fulton Landing? I have to say, last time I was there, the pizza we ordered was not very good – wet and soggy, and our topping was pepperoni
“Quite OK, Gemini….I am not by any means the final arbiter of taste. Olive Garden doesn’t work for me, but that’s just a personal thing.”
If the tour of italy was called ‘tour of yankee stadium’ you’d love it!
So what’s worse…Olive Garden or Red Lobster? 🙂

(We put the “P” in pathetic today for sure – not even going to break 300 posts in the OT, though that Pediatrics Office post . . . )

I guess that means I’ll have to write every other post when I am back properly, following co-op ‘death spiral’ rules re penalty shifts.
sbarro is better than grimaldi’s, that overrated tourist trap
