  1. bxgrl,

I agree, bay ridge is really nice, I’ve hung out there many times over the years, I remember the white castle where they filmed the scene in Saturday Night Fever, of them jumping on the table and acting nuts.
I also recall the old rock venue Lamours That’s going old school. Some really well known heavy metal bands played there.

  2. bxgrl at 12:12, here here. The Republicans who are saying Obama has been ineffective after 250 days in office are the same ones claiming 8 years was not enough time for anyone, including Bush, to correct all the wrongs committed by Clinton.

  3. montrose morris,
Medicare is not socialized medicine. it is a government trust which is paid for by the individual over a life time. And it is going bankrupt. Not my words, that’s the Congressional Budget Office’s assessment.

medicare will be insolvent around 2017, that’s 8 years away folks. so get your government run medical care while you can.

It is a good idea, at heart, but like many things administered by the government, it is rife with waste and abuse.

and now the president wants to expand “medicare” type coverage to the other 200 million Americans not in that type of coverage.
Wonder where they’ll get the money to pull that giant rabbit out of Uncle Sam’s hat?

  4. none of that tossing salad talk here, MM.

It did strike me as ironic other weekend listening to CNN on radio…they were talking about flooding situation in Georgia and in a QandA – they said that people can get flood insurance from guess whom? the federal gov’t.
I screamed out loud – SOCIALISM. Now I wish all the senators and congressman who are ranting about gov’t ins. HC – would dare to propose eliminating fed. flood insurance.

  5. Hey there everyone!

    You guys are funny today.

“Justin Mamis here for a meeting…got to run.”- Dave dropping names like a cinder block.

“Dutch Oven”- Literally made my sides hurt I laughed so hard.

DH- If you’re going to live in Manhattan the L.E.S. isn’t the worst choice in the world. I love it down there.

Also, so for all the talk I did yesterday about wanting Mexican for dinner last night guess what I wound up eating? MEATLOAF! After we got out of the ultrasound appt. I wanted a big hot meal. So we went to the Starlite Diner and I got meatloaf, with a baked potato and broccoli. It probably wasn’t as good as I thought it was in my head but I was more than happy with it.

My apologies for all those who gave me the good recs. yesterday.

  6. Only thing I will say is considering the last administration and all it managed to screw up in 8 years, blaming Obama for not being able to fix it all within his first 250 days is a little short on sightedness and memory.
