benson, really sucks what is going on. I am really fearful for the future of this country, for the first time ever.
Anyway, you’re in engineering, not mfg. Someone still has to design the sh*t.
What I really effin’ hate is when I get some new sh*t in that used to be made somewhere in the US, now it says made in Mexico or China. Happened to me last week. So I call up the mfgr and say, how come it’s the same price? Then you get some blathering bs about the need to ‘be competitive’. But the big companies are sucking up the money and not even letting the little guys getting a taste of what they save sending it offshore.
A few months ago I got blindsided like that by another American mfgr, you’d immediately recognize the name. I only noticed cuz the Mexican factory left some production slip in the box in Spanish. I called them up and told them we found a tequila bottle in the box. Assholes!
OK, I understand your point, but let me make a follow-up comment. Just as there are “true believers”, there are also “true unbelievers”. Somehow I think that no matter what Sarah Palin did here, including having a 3rd party witness her writing the book, would have convinced the True Unbelievers that it was her baby. She’s just one of those polarizing figures (like Bill Clinton and “W”).
Oh yes, benson, very funny, lots of pols do it. Pointless to engage in a Dem v. Rep. battle over whose books were ghostwritten. What I love, however, is the spin in Palin’s case. There’s no need to imply that Hillary wrote her book. She obviously could ahve if she wanted to, she was just too entitled/busy/lazy/arrogant/name your adjective. The reason people cared about Hillary not naming the gw is it revealed her arrogance, not stupidity, because whatever things people think about Hillary, they don’t question her intellect.
The spin now is all about implying that, whatever’s in those 400 pages, Sarah Palin could have written it herself, because there are inevitable doubts. To the extent the book is about burnishing her credentials, it fails if no one but true believers believes it is her book. You watch — all the spin is going to be about trying to imply how much this book is really hers and reflects her writing, her intellect, her ideas, etc.
True!
Very few people these days write their own books. Particularly politicians. So even if she did ‘write it’ I’m sure she had plenty of oversight.
THL, we can add, “Ya know” and “Darn” to that list.

We’ll know if she wrote it by the ‘Gosh’ and ‘Golly’ count. You have to assume the editors couldn’t have caught and deleted all of them.

Somehow MWAHAHAHAH coming out of your mouth seems uncharacteristic.
And that was a compliment.
OK…it’s down in the subway for me, emerging in the ghetto in 35 minutes
Bye Bye
[wink]
Dibs – I didn’t see any comment about your punctuation by the police – looks like a self-inflicted wound to me.
I’ve fried tuna melts.
