People who think their job is really special and difficult are for the most part just barely smart and capable enough to do their job. Their impression of the difficulty and importance of their work is just a reflection of how challenging it is for them.
I have been a logger, a lighting and sound tech, a circus performer, a Navy sailor, and lots of other things along the way. Now I’m a corporate lawyer, and it’s almost like my skin is itching all over and waiting for me to move on to the next step.
A friend told me yesterday he is thinking about doing business in Baghdad. Two weeks on, two weeks off, stay in the green zone but travel to factories around the city. It was all I could do to stop myself from giving notice and signing up. I wouldn’t even need a salary. Just get me the hell over there and let me chew off a big chunk of danger and risk and reward.
“If I ever said I missed him and wished for him to come back here, I take it back. Sorry cobble, but I really think he adds nothing but venom.”
this counts for me too. I sometimes miss the drama but I do appreciate the fact that we can discuss sensitive subjects without completely dissolving into name calling.
CG_ups, I only have so much time in the day to watch my trashy shows! I actually never watched the original Melrose Place (or 90210). Is the new MP any good?

“Darn, I love a good puppet show!”
Nope, won’t re-write this one. I’ll put a sock in my mouth.

“is stan the jewish one?”
No, that’s Kyle. Stan’s the one who barfs every time Wendy (the girl he has a crush on) talks to him.
