Being in the elite is a ranking/class. Being elitist is a mannerism/behavior. You don’t have to behave in an elitist manner just because you’re categorized as elite. Just as you don’t have to be poor to behave poorly.

Yes, I took the nationally acclaimed “I-wanna-be-a-lawyer Speed Study” class. You listen to tapes while you sleep, and you wake up a lawyer! Easy Peasy!
