Rob, I would NEVER pick you up on the street. Firstly, this is NYC and I aint picking up no strangers or hitchhikers. Secondly, I’ve seen movies, I know what happens. Thirdly, it’s highly illegal unless you have taxi or livery designated license plates. Even car service (TLC) CANNOT pick you up on the street unless you called them and scheduled a pickup. If police catches any car do that, there are very hefty fines.
You’re giving Thain way too much credit on that deal. Haven’t you seen the news report that Paulson and Bernanke read the riot act to Lewis: “Buy Merril or else”? Hey, I could get a premium for any company if I had “Hank” and “Helicopter Ben” handicapping the thing.

you should have just let me hitchhike. i think from now on im just going to hitchhike in brooklyn. it’s so weird tho that you can stand on a curb with your thumb out for a cab and only cabs will pick you up but people actually wont. if i saw someone with their thumb out on a corner id just let them hop in if i had room.
