Does anybody remember “The Patty Duke Show”???
I liked the show, but always felt that there was something incongruous about it. The show was supposed to be set in Brooklyn Heights, and they did sometimes include outdoor shots from the Promenade. Yet Patty’s house was a typical 1960’s suburban ranch home straight out of Middle America. It was just weird.
haven’t had to deal with valuation of investments for a long while – but if my brief skim of FAS 157 is correct, certain stuff should be carried at FV rather than cost now?

depends on what you’re looking at. securities held for investment? yes. securities held to maturity? no.

Anybody who pays for sex, loyalty and friends is a sad, sad man (or woman).

That’s not true, M4L. He’s just the only one here who will admit to it.

Awesome, a discussion on accounting principles. I’ve been waiting forever for this!
Patty Duke won an oscar at 10 years old for her role as Helen Keller in the Miracle Worker.
