king cole is at the st regis? love their bloody mary and the yums bar snacks. if you’re paying $15 for a drink, it’s nice to get tasty free wasabi peas et al. 🙂
dh, I have been to the Carlyle. That bar is a beauty and arguably more intimate than King Cole. The lighting is a lot different.
Speaking of the Carlyle, a friend in Buck’s County bought Bobby Short’s sofa at auction after he died. I didn’t see the attraction to a used sofa except maybe one that belonged to a historical figure from the past.
freemans to partake of the discount drinks and appys so will deffo hit it since the other half is kinda amped for it. thanks for the alternate suggestions thoguh! 🙂
I can’t imagine listening to a football game without hearing John Madden. When I think of Thanksgiving and Winter weekends it’s always with hearing Madden in the background.
This year, the Giants will treat the Philadelphia Eagles much in the same manner that Michael Vick treats dogs – with extreme cruelty.

Dave – since you like King Cole Bar – have you ever been to Bemelmans Bar at the Caryle Hotel?
hm, that’s terrible, it had some great tunes on it. Oh well, the sands of time are not kind.
cgar, maybe, ironically I’m meeting up with an old brooklyn inn friend tonight. Enjoy the juke box and the randy boys at the witching hour.
