Random question for PLUSA’s. I just cleaned out a desk drawer and found 300 Yen and 184 Reais. Is there any place in NY I can exchange this for dollars without getting hosed on the currency exchange fee? Or should I just keep it on hand for my next trips to Japan or Brazil?
Two recommendations people: 50 Dead Men Walking – awesome movie! One of the few Northern Ireland dramas that don’t glorify one side. Rose mcGowan plays the spy who uses her body to extract info, ben Kingsley is great too. Based on a true story.
And, the new GQ has a cover story on Michael Jackson that is hands down the best commentary/appraisal I’ve read.
This weekend I checked out the new seamstress/tailor who’s opened up shop on 5th Avenue next to Bogota. It’s the first time in years I’ve seen a serious, skilled tailor in the neighborhood, so I was excited.
Her name is Mila, and she’s Russian, and quite lovely. Based on the silk curtain she whipped up for me overnight, she’s good at her work. Speaking of second language English, Mila’s is totally charming. We talked about American tailoring ignorance, and she said:
“Twelve years ago, I come to this country. I look around, see clothing. Then I ask myself question: Bad fit. Is American style?”

I miss re-writes.
off to lunch.
Kens, don’t get too excited about the humor. I’m not as good as she was. But I’m hard pressed to give it a try.

My crystal ball says it is so.

Love the picture! I have a great one of a firefighter I knew who rescued a whole litter of puppies. You just have to love these guys!
“a cute fireman plus cat pic with the article”
CG_Ups, either you’re kidding about the fireman or have a Nathan Lane fetish.
