Both are great cocktail places – I prefer D&C over PDT as it is bigger and the guys behind the bar are a little more efficient.
If you guys are going the cocktail route, I highly recommend White Star on Essex and Hester. It’s an offshoot of the original (and best in my opinion) cocktail bar in the city – Milk and Honey. All of the bartenders either work at MH or were trained there. They also have a happy hour $7 cocktails.
It’s also off the beaten trail and not as crowded as PDT, DC et all
