  1. “In a few more months, no one is going to remember that we used to talk about houses around here.”

slopefarm, did I miss something? Does this blog have something to do with real estate?

  2. A friend of mine has 3 teenage kids & one t.v. – in the living room. Visitors are always surprised kids have ‘puters and not t.v. sets but then have an aha moment – the kids read instead of watching the tube & they mainly play video games w/ more than one player. Good grades, poised socially, charming & interesting children.

  3. ” If only we played for the same team and “Chad” wasn’t 6’5″!”

Ok, it must be the lack of sleep and dehydration I’m currently experiencing, but I’M SO CONFUSED!

This would change what? Me into a gay man living with a shorter straight guy?! I can’t go for that…no oh, I can’t go for that…no can do!! ; )

  4. Biff,

Just goes to show how this site has changed. It’s been a long time since anyone has gone to war over track or recessed lighting in a restored brownstone. In a few more months, no one is going to remember that we used to talk about houses around here.

  5. Kens, I’m trying to hold off as long as possible on the video games. It’s likely inevitable but Mrs. C and I are vehemently opposed to young kids playing them. We’re fortunate that they love books and going to museums. Of course they love TV as well, but we limit that too.

My sis had the same dilemma but gave in because you also don’t want to alienate your kids from playing these games because they do talk about it at school and that’s what bonds them with classmates. She limits both their TV and electronic games use and she is fortunate that her kids actually love books and music as well as just playing with the old fashioned toys.
