I tried out Cafe Regular in PS this Saturday morning. The coffee is good–better than Ozzie’s by far. But I bet their neighbors already hate them. The place is too small, just a couple of tiny tables, and all the customers are taking their coffee and sitting on the steps of the neighboring buildings.
DH – when did Union Pool become sooo horrid?
I had a few guy friends who lived across the street in 2001/2002 and that was THEIR place to go, these guys weren’t douchebags – so am wondering did it become so awful once Willy-B took off?
That question to the travel section made me laugh. How dumb can people be? You’re packing up all your worldly possessions to move to Hawaii and you haven’t DONE ANY RESEARCH!?
But the NYT answer was also whack. They steered the couple to Maui and Oahu, the two most over-developed islands.
If I were homesteading in Hawaii, I’d go to Hilo, on the big island, or to Molokai (but not to the leper colony).
ah, i like barcade too! marble madness is good but too frustrating for me. i’m all over moon patrol, dig dug and q*bert! i love that place when it’s not crowded. williamsburg is nice when it’s not crowded. i seriously don’t get the whole waiting an hour to 1) get a table 2) get a drink for a bartender et al type places. love the abbey bar. such a pleasant little unassuming dive.
yeah that pretty much sums it up dipster. i didnt even bother getting a drink when i was in there. i just sat in the back with my jaw on the ground from the horribleness of the people there. and im not even a very judgemental person!
barcade because i wanted to play some old video games (ms pac man and marble madness were out of order OF COURSE). then i realized, hey why do you put a quarter in some game and it doesnt register? then another quarter then another? there is some serious scammage going on at that place. oh well. then we went to pool hall or something like that. it was horrible. crowded and full of the kinds of people i totally hate. we wound up going back to some loft party and that was fun. i woke up under a table table at like 8am hahaha.

That would be Union Pool – the bane of my existance. I live a block from there and it’s perpetually filled with hipster douche from all over Brooklyn.
