Cobble, I’m the only tenant (residential) in my building. There is an office below me and just my apt. above it. Living on that stretch of 5th ave, there is no room for outdoor bins…it would block the sidewalk. I have to put out my trash myself on the collection nights.

But wait a sec Snappy, doesn’t your building supply bins? Why do you have to put it out on the street? My building has a couple guys that come by the night before the trash pick up and stuff our little garbage bags from the bins into a big bag and curb them.
Also, I’ve been using the same box of bags forever and a day (got a box of like 300 bags at Sam’s club a year or so ago). Never had a problem until now. The 311 douche actually asked me what color bags others on the street use. I was like, how the eff should I know? I put the trash out when it’s dark and I don’t make a habit of inspecting other people’s trash! He then tried to tell me that I must have put something in the bag that’s not allowed. I asked him if I’m supposed to recycle food scraps and cat sh!t. Dillweed! I just got a call from the DOS and it turns out the jackass at 311 sent up my address as 5th ave in Manhattan so now I likely have a summons to tend to. Nimrods!

I think the only issue is the recycle bags need to be blue or clear.
