gemini…there’s no high end grocery around there either is there???? Here at the old offices I had the Amish Market of 45th bet 2 & 3 and the markets in Grand central terminal.
Is the closest one that Gourmet Market on Sixth Ave around 57th St????
Dibs – haha hard to find that sorta deli – but I know what you mean!
ummm – well I ALWAYS go to the corner coffee guys. The one I go to is Greek and he always has fresh donuts, bagels, pastries and solid corner coffee – he’s on the 55th street corner and 5th avenue. the 55th and Madison corner is an Arab woman who has good coffe but not as good of a variety of donuts/bagels etc as the guy I normally go to.
I like City Market up here b/c you can request your sandwich to be made and you can pick all sorts of interesting bits like sliced avocado or red pepper or sprouts
“DH: Aren’t you done yet? How many mice infested your apt!!”
Sorta – I have isolated where they are coming in. The basement room has a closet with the mechanicals. I tried to plug it up as best as possible, but the pest control specialist is coming on Monday. :-\
gemini…I need to find the nearest morning donut guy on the sidewalk as well!!!! There is a deli on 55th just west of Lex that was always good and cheap.
What’s always difficult to find is a deli that has a real roast of roast beef that’s freshly cooked and really rare; not that dry brown Boar’s Head crap!!!!
I have City Market by me no 23rd and 5th and their sandwiches and wraps are always good and pretty reasonably priced. Not sure about the one on Madison.

tough – not to cheap around here, many people at my job go to Cafe Europa which is very good it’s on 55th and madison – next to the Sony bldg. There’s also Burger Heaven on Madison btwn 55th and 54th
Good Sandwiches can be found at City Market right next to the Duane Reade on 55th closer to Madison
There’s always Cosi on 56th btwn park and madison and Dishes on Park at 53rd
Chicken, I’m not religious but if I were that would be my alter. It’s funny, I’ve seen everything there a million times but it still excites me. I’m a total dork when it comes to rocks.
Since we got the house whenever my mom and dad come by they bring me more of my childhood stuff that they’ve been holding on to. So this last trip she brings old timey tupperware box that was the kind that you carried cupcakes in to parties. So it has 12 individual molded cups. Don’t you know I had filled them up with rocks from the beach and garden that I’d wrapped in tissues and taped with Scotch tape (because you don’t want a garden rock to get scratched!). I was pretty amazed at my little kindergarten collection of stones, good stuff!
My husband laughed because his initial assumption when he met me was I was just a jewelry girl. Nope. Now he has proof that my little obsession started very early on.

I will be a lot closer to the Goodburger on 54th and Lex, my old condo building
