DIBS – to tell you the truth, I’m not bothered one way or the other about that slur – I’ve been harassing him because he constantly uses slurs and then hypocritically claims he doesn’t. Everything he accuses other people of being – mainly “hypocrite” or “racist”, he himself is the epitome of.

I didn’t call “sam” stupid. I said his COMMENTS were stupid (and idiotic). As dittoburg said, genetically, it’s ENTIRELY possible for a kid not to resemble his parents in many respects. Not only mixed-race kids, but even kids of the SAME race can differ significantly in looks from their parents. Doesn’t always happen, but it’s certainly possible. By saying bi-racial children “look like Obama did when he was a little boy, or like Holly Berrie, or like two little kids on my block,” “sam” is claiming that ALL children of mixed race look the same. There’s a famous (and insulting) saying to this effect with regards to black people, but I won’t go there. Regardless of whether or not he was trying to make an “observation,” “sam’s” comment is simply idiotic.

Rob, your posts were so funny last week I was LOL a bunch of times — wish I could remember them all.

One was the play-on-words with Sam about a person of/or with “substance”. Another was a (yenta type): $100 for a boyfriend; $50. for a girlfriend. You have a comic gift with turning things around. Also with your social observations, it seems you could be a novelist.

BTW, I wonder what it costs for a couple of good parents.
