bxgrl, bacon differentiates a good clam chowder from a truly great clam chowder. Bacon has a way of doing that. Bacon wrapped salmon for instance.
Agree on Progresso- sometimes the meat is so tough and dry. odd in a soup. But I love a great split pea with bacon.
