“why does cobble have such disdain for me?”
You can ask me directly randi. I have disdain for you because you irritate me. Despite the fact that you are participating more often, and seem to have something to offer, you continue to make statements that IRK me.
Last night, on the way home, some extremely overweight man pushed on behind me so he could get a seat. Of course he needed two seats. We exchanged words.
I rarely sit on the subway even when there are seats. I covet that door position, which I know bothers a lot of you. However, as I once remarked to someone who said I shouldn’t stand there: “I’m doing you a favor. If it weren’t me it’s be someone 400 lbs who doesn’t know how to move.”
When the train is crowded, there’s no air circulation down at seated level.
I do enjoy watching the looks on passengers when someone who needs more than one, arguably small, subways seat tries to squeeze in between them!!!!

it amazes me that so many men just sit and “pretend to sleep” when a pregant woman or older person gets on the train.
not sure about giving up my seat though for a woman/man with a kid. Sorry, but my father taught me that I was to give up my seat for someone who needed it more than my 9 year old butt
I suppose a 3 year old is different…
I also loved how the host put Teresa in check about the slur her husband made. Wether or not they felt it was offensive, the point was that it was offensive to some people, including Danielle, and they had no right to tell her she should not be offended by it. Then when they tried to justify it by saying “everybody in Jersey says that” I was grossed out. Just because something is done by the masses (though I think the state of Jersey would not like her speaking for them) doesn’t make it right or ok to do.
I’ve seen one very proactive bus driver actually pull the bus over and tell everyone that if the standing pregnant ladies and people with canes didn’t get a seat he would take the bus out of service and kick off everyone but the pregnant and cane users. I could have hugged that man, but you know some folks…they were actually pissed off to have to get up or be forced off the bus. Shamefull.
Agree with Snappy re: Randi. I’ve found he / she’s gone from being simply a name-caller to someone who can come up with some pretty hilarious lines. I think it all turned for me with his / her post on the Marriage Equality Act, which I admired.

Snappy – Add a neck brace. When I wore one people fell all over themselves to give me a seat.

“I got them off the property of my Mexican bf’s cousins.”
Re-write instructions:
Remove the words “them” and “the property of”.
