Aw Dave, Cirque du Soleil was brilliant the first few years. Now it’s probably a victim of its own success.
I saw them in ’86, which was their first or 2nd American tour, and I was blown away. I had a friend who is still a Barnum and Bailey clown, (don’t go there) who took me, and I’ll never forget it. I’ve seen them maybe 4 times since, still amazing, but never as good, never with that sense of wonder the whole thing had back in the beginning.
M4L, Oh please. They are not poor. They’re ACTING poor, there is a difference. I want the follow up story on these three jokers. Right, they have debt, so they decided that playing tent might make the debt just go away? Gimme a break.
Possible outcomes:
1. Daddy gets A, B or C a job at his/friends/cousins/uncles company.
2. Mummy and Daddy suggest grad school AND help pay for that too
3. They go back-packing in Europe with Mummy and Daddy’s money.

It would normally be Rob with his rant, which typically comes right after the FGVOTD. Then it would be randolph, insulting one or both of us. So if we both disappear, DIBS you might have to be the official pathetic loser and post first each day.

Oh please, If you just graduated college, can’t afford to live here and can’t find a job MOVE HOME. The article didn’t say anything about this being their last resort. I rarely see such smug grins on people who are destitute.
The tent guys don’t bother me. Like M4L says, they ARE poor! If they want to sleep in a tent in a back yard in Bushwick who cares and why? Since when is it unusual for 20-something types to do something out of the ordinary? Not a big deal in the overall scheme of things.

Ouch. Ok, in light of the posts above, I am officially retiring the FGVOTD. I hope you’re happy ENY! By the way, I was thinking you would like the Foghorn quote I posted at 3:16. I was thinking of you and benson discussing stickball as I was posting it and figured it would make you laugh.
