  1. “hires Clinton as his Secretary of State (the very area he beat her up on) and keeps Bush’s Secretary of State.”

    Cool, we get two Secretaries of State for the price of one! Or did you mean Bush’s Secretary of Defense?

  2. Montrose;

    I think you’re getting a little touchy here. This is an open thread, and I’ll say what I please. I’m in marketing, and I know a marketing genius when I see one. The man based his campaign against Clinton on two points: a) she voted for the Iraq resolution and b) we don’t need any more Washington insiders. The guy wins and -presto – he stocks his cabinet with Clintonites, hires Clinton as his Secretary of State (the very area he beat her up on) and keeps Bush’s Secretary of State.

    I’m telling you, I wish I had half his marketing savvy.

  3. Rob, aside from all of the fraud involved here, your employer has to sign off on unemployment. No one is going to do that unless it’s true. If you were collecting unemployment, which is rife with data going to the IRS, etc, while drawing an above board salary, with deductions, taxes etc, also rife with data going to the IRS, sooner or later, someone is going to notice. If they are feeling particularly vindictive, you and your employer can be fined, charged with fraud and possible prosecuted. It’s a lot easier to just sent some of your salary to a savings account before you get your hands on it.

    Benson, stop picking fights. The man hasn’t even been sworn in yet, and people are complaining that he hasn’t walked on water. I’d rather have competent retreads than incompetant newbies. We are not in the position to have a 2 year learning curve while people learn the ropes.

  4. lol i told a collection agency to *F* off a little while ago and that i will pay them when i get it and to stop haranguing me at my job. u have to be really firm with those jerks.

  5. BRG…now that would be a loser!!!

    I guess you didn’t see the one about you What so I’ll repost it…

    Dave: I have a serious quesiton for you ….

    If I spent several years in the real estate business, then left (let’s say because I suffered from a serious mental illness), then went to work for my sister in a multi-national bank, spent my entire time compalaining about the very industries that paid my salary, made comments on a web site about other people’s rectums while living in my grandmother’s house rent-free well into my 40’s, would that make me the biggest loser on Brownstoner?

  6. Yes, I can see how all the creative types in Brownstoner country would be attracted to a person who created the ultimate slogan: “Change You Can Believe In”….

    …..and then stocks his cabinet with Clinton retreads, and keeps Bush’s Secretary of Defense (after promising to end the war in Iraq).

    A triumph of marketing!!! The man is a genius.

  7. First of all Happy new year Cobblehiller and I hope you find employment!

    “What, if you have a ‘golden ticket’ – you have to GO!”

    I will be wondering around DC with rest of the knuckleheads! DC is going to be a nightmare.
