A reader wrote in wondering what was going on at the storefront on Hoyt and Douglass, the former Abreu Grocer. Back in January 2009, we wrote a post on the space, wondering if the handful of stores for rent across from the Gowanus Houses may lead to some upgraded retail options. And although there has been construction there, a real estate office is coming to the space, not a store or restaurant. Back in January the monthly asking rent for the 950-square-foot space was $3,000. Wonder if they ended up getting close to that.
