Brooklyn Heights is getting a new wine shop. As the Brooklyn Heights Blog noted yesterday, a liquor application has popped up in the window of 60 Henry Street under the applicant name of Dumbo Wines. It’s nice to see that something’s going to happen in one of these empty storefronts. Think a wine store will have a good shot here? GMAP

  1. Maybe you guys were blocked because one day, on an Open Thread, there were over 300 posts, instead of the usual couple of dozen, all by people who didn’t live in Bklyn heights, all making inane comments that weren’t relevant to the Heights, and all by people who make the Open Threads here unreadable.

  2. Wow, Minard, I assume your post was also deleted. These guys really understand the benefits of dialog.

Anyway, good luck to the new wine store – I hope they have a discount card.

  3. I wrote something critical about the BHA. Not nasty and certainly no foul language but just not an acceptable thought. It really is incredible. I think he has gotten a little better lately but really, he has too loosen his knickers a notch.

  4. Minard and Broke get it – if I lived next door to Michael Towne or walked by it everyday on my commute home – which will be true in a few weeks – I would (and will) still give my business Chateau Heights and Montague Wine & Spirits.

Hopefully the new shop doesn’t view wine merchandising as a commodity enterprise.

  5. Heights Chateau is much better than Michael Towne, but that is a haul for people at the north end of the Heights. Blanc e Rouge in Dumbo sucks, so maybe they will get some of that biz too.
