A new wine bar called Mauzac will be opening at 136 Dekalb Avenue between South Portland and South Elliott adjacent to the existing Carol’s Daughter space. Actually, the new lease (which was arranged by CPEX) will be in space that Carol’s Daughter has been renting but not using in recent years at the rear of its store. In addition to being excited to partake of the new venture’s grape-derived offerings, we think it’s great for this stretch along the park to have some nighttime activity. It should make this stretch past Brooklyn Tech and the community garden a little less ominous for those walking home from the train at night. GMAP
What is up with that cellars spot? I’ve actually wanted to open a wine bar in that space. When was the last time it was occupied and what was it? Who owns it?
2 bars within 2 blocks? Unprecedented!
Odd location for another wine bar…Stonehome Wine Bar is right down the block on Lafayette and South Portland.
“There is already a huge chain of those in Brooklyn called “The Sidewalk Outside the Bodega.”
LMAO!
> someone should open up a 40 ounce bar!

Lovely! It’ll be good to infuse a little life into the FG Park stretch of DeKalb.
I agree with S&L – a little light outside would go a long way. How long does a buildout of something like this usually take?
Now if only we could get something into the Cellars space. A gay bar, perhaps.
lol ftgreenpark. i dont get wine bars really. speaking of 40 ounces, someone should open up a 40 ounce bar!
*rob*
re: eh
took the words right outta my 40oz soaked mouth.
Awesome. As I happen to live within that “ominous stretch” between the train and BK Tech, I’m happy for any and all new business in the area. Especially new business that allows me to have drinks and then stumble home.
