A reader sent in this photo of renovation under way at the corner of 6th Avenue and 12th Street, along with a note saying word on the street is that it’s coming courtesy of Toby’s Public House brass. Further: “Wood fired brick oven American cooking is what they said.” (The space was recently on the market.) Anyone heard more details about the venture? Update: The restaurant will be called Sweetwolf’s and is being opened by Tim Judge, who has been the GM of Toby’s for three years. GMAP

  1. This is great news. Even with all the new restaurants in South Slope, the mid- and higher-priced places still have long waits. Thistle Hill, Sidecar, Fonda and others can all have long waits on the weekends.

  2. Hey, as a big fan of Brownstoner and as one of the principal owners, Just to let you know this is an independent project. It is not a Toby’s Public House venture. Tim Judge the current gm of Toby’s and myself are looking forward to creating a cool neighborhood place.
