A reader tipped us off yesterday to the construction of what looks like quite an upscale restaurant in the former Caribbean Kitchen space at 270 Kingston Avenue in Crown Heights. “This is important for the neighborhood as we have very few food choices/restaurants in this part of Crown Heights,” he wrote, noting that “the only bar on this part of Kingston (called Crown Heights Munchie) closed down about 2 months

I live around the corner, and I welcome the fact that I could go somewhere within walking distance to have a glass of wine. With very few amenities in the close proximity to where I live, I am more than excited to see something fresh come. I would not call it upscale, but warm and cozy with brick walls, banquets, a wall of wine racks to hold bottles and some modern clear glass pendent lighting. It is a great addition to the neighborhood!
Looks like Kingston and Lincoln Place.
Kosher restaurant and wine/beer is almost an oxymoron… Well, you also get the requisite picture of the late Lubavitch Chief Rabbi that adorns every place on Kingston.
What are the cross streets?
Upscale is a bit of a stretch. This is going to be a kosher pizza place that sells wine & beer. Glad to see a new business on Kingston and I can’t wait to try it out.
