What’s a neckdown, you ask? It’s a bulb-out or a nib or an elephant ear, according to Wikipedia. That not help? How about this: It’s a curb extension at the corner primarily for traffic-calming and safety purposes. They’ve been going in all over the city in recent years and now there’s one being installed on the southeast corner of Lafayette Avenue and Adelphi Street in Fort Greene.
