Zagat has news about Battersby, a contemporary American restaurant slated to open in the middle of next month on Smith Street. The chefs behind the restaurant have done time at places such as Gramercy Tavern, The Vanderbilt, and Alain Ducasse at the Essex House; they say the Smith Street venture is supposed to be as good as “Manhattan’s best” but “more approachable.” The spot they’re opening Battersby in used to be home to Patois, and more recently housed La Petite Provence and JB’s Burger.
