The Brooklyn Paper has the lowdown on a new bar opening in Prospect Heights. The new spot, being launched in a small storefront at 706 Washington Avenue by the owner of the Kings County bar in Bushwick, will be called Minor Arcana, a reference to a Tarot reading he received in Coney Island while contemplating the new venture. The new space will be filled with Coney Island references like a cabinet of curiosities and freak show-related wall hangings. As the owner described it to us in an email last week, “The Minor Arcana will focus mainly on drinking in a slightly creepy but still fun sideshow/carnival atmosphere.” The opening is slated for this Friday.

This place opened last week! Brownstoner, please check it out! 😀 The art is awesome, the bar is a series of dioramas, the jukebox has serious potential, and the beer selection gets an A+.
Weather Up + Cornelius = my favorite BK night out. As jester and CGar know!
Not tried the Vanderbilt yet.
Not sure about this place, but Washington Commons looks good & want to try it soon..
“ill wear a disguise.”
Let me guess: a “long, blonde wig” right?
I’ve been to this guy’s other bar in bushwick. if it’s anything like that it should be good. I’ll be at the opening friday with mrs bummer.
Oh my god… I hope they have “Shoot the Freak Night” where you can shoot the bartender with a paint gun!!!
That is a *really* great, trifecta, Infinitejester.
They better have Coney Island Lager on tap!
I definitely find myself venturing to PH more and more. The Vanderbilt, Cornelius, and Weather Up make a nice trifecta. This place sounds like it’s for a different kind of evening but well worth checking out.
Oh happy day! Yet another place to ruin my liver along the B45 route!
