minor-arcana-1109.jpgThe Brooklyn Paper has the lowdown on a new bar opening in Prospect Heights. The new spot, being launched in a small storefront at 706 Washington Avenue by the owner of the Kings County bar in Bushwick, will be called Minor Arcana, a reference to a Tarot reading he received in Coney Island while contemplating the new venture. The new space will be filled with Coney Island references like a cabinet of curiosities and freak show-related wall hangings. As the owner described it to us in an email last week, “The Minor Arcana will focus mainly on drinking in a slightly creepy but still fun sideshow/carnival atmosphere.” The opening is slated for this Friday.

  1. This place opened last week! Brownstoner, please check it out! 😀 The art is awesome, the bar is a series of dioramas, the jukebox has serious potential, and the beer selection gets an A+.

  2. Weather Up + Cornelius = my favorite BK night out. As jester and CGar know!
    Not tried the Vanderbilt yet.
Not sure about this place, but Washington Commons looks good & want to try it soon..

  3. I definitely find myself venturing to PH more and more. The Vanderbilt, Cornelius, and Weather Up make a nice trifecta. This place sounds like it’s for a different kind of evening but well worth checking out.
