  1. So it sounds like the people who live in that area should definitely start filing reports at the 88th if they notice something “illegal” happening over there…

    I don’t usually find myself over there after dark, but might add it into my nightly dog walk just to check it out and see if this complaint has any validity. I strongly believe that playgrounds should be kept clean and safe for everyone’s children- newcomers AND oldtimers. If people are hanging out and doing drugs there at night, it’s definitely NOT a safe place for children to be playing in during the day!

I have talked to many older, longtime black neighbors where we live and all of them absolutely do care about crime and quality of life issues and of course they have participated in efforts to stop it. The younger newcomers are more experienced with things like blogs and petitions and stuff that makes those efforts more public, that’s all. Anybody (that’s you, Brownstones Half Off) who says white newcomers are the only ones who care or ever complain are completely uninformed and probably I’d say racist, too.
