What do you think of this building at Myrtle and Kent? We like the red.
i can’t believe with all of the complaining about new development that is discussed on this site that anyone would dare have the nerve to say anything derogatory towards the “low income rentals” on st. johns. if converted brownstones (albeit stoopless ones) don’t cut it for you people, what DOES??
are some of you really that out of touch with reality that you’d criticize this and liken it to east new york???
what a horrible building. it reminds me of welfare housing you see in the outskirts of many eastern european cities. it’s actually so awful, it ‘s laughable.
Yea, this block is like a slice of East New York in the Slope.
Nice photo, but in real life that block looks really sad with no stoops.
Is that why they’re stoopless?
That photo of the Brownstones on St. Johns Place reminds me of how awful things got that all of these houses had their stoops ripped off and the entire row became low income rentals.
That’s the thing with these big-sheets-o-glass buildings–great if they’re looking out on something worth looking at. But, like the one on N. 7th and Bedford, kind of a waste if you’re just a human terrarium for commuters.
This is 609 Myrtle (The Developers Group). Exterior isn’t bad –i’ve seen worse. (Da Haus, for example). As far as the interior, I like the floor to ceiling windows but don’t know if I want much exposure on Myrtle Ave.
