The whole episode kind of shook me up. Three people just going about their Saturday morning, grabbing a paper at Juniors, and then out of the blue – no leg. If it happens to me that’s one thing but I walk that corner all the time with my kids.
“one man had his leg severed at the knee.”
YEOWCH. Hope he’ll be ok.
That accident was a block from our house. We were standing outside with the kids admiring the smashed window of a car that had been burglarized overnight when we heard the smash. We ran to the corner and saw a group of people very urgently trying to move a lincoln town car back from the corner bodega. I sent the kids back inside and walked over to see if there was any way I could help. By the time I got there there wasn’t really anything I could do, so I stood around with the rest of the crowd and speculated. The people who were first on the scene said one man had his leg severed at the knee.
Could work, if you did it ‘Strangers on a Train’ style. But, karma has a way of smacking folks around!
[Note to self: Never turn your back on ditto.]
in that case seems like an easy way to commit a perfect murder, as long as you can make sure no-one connects you to the victim.
Morning losers.
Ditto, there’s nothing to be charged with if it’s an accident – ie. not drunk/under the influence, etc. If you lose control, you lose control. His insurance co. will be out some money, but there’s nothing criminal to speak of.
Who were the naysayers and all their supposed knowledge that it wasn’t a real tornado?????
