Second Annual Grand Portfolio Tasting
Today, October 1, the Fort Greene Park Conservancy hosts their Second Annual Grand Portfolio Tasting, featuring fine food, wine, and wine experts. Held on the roof top of the Forté, the new condominium on Fulton and Ashland, the event starts at 6:00 p.m. with the VIP wine tasting class; general admission begins at 8:00 p.m. All proceeds will go to the Conservancy’s efforts to improve and celebrate Brooklyn’s historic park. Monday, 6:00 p.m. VIP; 8:00 p.m. general admission.
Advance purchase general admission $90; VIP admission $150.
Brooklyn Close-Up: Al Santana at BAM
Today, BAM’s Rose Cinemas present a retrospective of the work of Al Santana, including the films Voices of the Gods (1985), Durban 400 (2002), In the Spirit of Peace (2003), Military Option (2005), and One People (2007). It’s a fundraiser. It’s not meant to be a simple and affordable wine tasting. It’s meant to raise money for the betterment of the park — which WILL benefit 100% of Fort Greene residents.
I don’t understand why the tasting is being advertised. It’s not like 99% of Fort Greene residents can afford to attend.
