  1. The interest in this photograph lies in the fact that, not only is the strip of land being sold a rather narrow and oddly shaped one, it is also a piece of land that was actually used as a thoroughfare 80 years ago. Jerome Avenue past East 23rd Street disappeared from maps in the late 1920s.

Lets not kid ourselves about the red hook vendors. the reason they are being pushed out is because it will be too much competition for ikea’s swedish meatballs. funny how they marketed themselves as being a boon to the projects and the neighborhood and the first thing they do is try to get rid of a red hook vendors…one of the things i love most about the hook. may ikea rot in there own detritus of particle board.
