After starting on sewer and water main replacement work under Eastern Parkway last year, the city’s Department of Design and Construction (DDC) is now working on the median widening and beautification portion of the project known as the Eastern Parkway Reconstruction Project that extends from Washington Avenue to Grand Army Plaza in Prospect Heights. As per the Community Board 8 website, this phase includes the “installation of new pavement, curbs and sidewalks, catch basins, chute connections, ADA compliant pedestrian ramps, manholes, fire hydrants, street lighting and traffic signals.” Completion is targeted for the Fall of 2012.
Widening to add pedestrian mall and bike lane…it’s going to be great!
