A tipster sent us this picture and some information about Mac’s Landing, a new cafe moving into the old Shakoor’s Sweet Tooth at 305 Halsey. The spot will offer coffee, tea, breakfast items and gourmet sandwiches. Also looks like seating and wi-fi access will be available. No word yet on the opening date, but this definitely seems like a promising addition to the nabe. GMAP
I echo m’par’s sentiments above – (except for a coop with a work requirement) – but I am not going to Newark for it!

This is nice we have a new place opening up. But does anyone really need breakfast, coffee, tea, and sandwiches? I find places like this tend to close down.
What WE would like is more dinner restaurants that offer fresh green vegetables and liquor with whatever else high-quality, low-priced food they are serving in a pleasant environment with subtle lighting!
AND a grocery store, preferably a coop with a work requirement, with local organic produce, genuine whole wheat bread (not fake whole wheat), and free range hormone free chicken and grassfed meat.
