Lighting Up the Waterfront
We just noticed this colorful display of lights on a certain new waterfront development. Is this a Holiday thing or have we just not been paying attention? Who can name the building?

I noticed the Forte’ lights shift from blue to green to yellow to orange/red to purple and repeat all night.
Makes that 2 story rectangle eye sore on the roof look really cool!
The image sucks. You need to improve your evening photography skills, man.

IN spite of all you stupid former Manhattan people living in our beloved Borough, we are nonetheless proud of our development. Go home. And… do go back across the East River.
Yeah, we can do it up real classy like the Eiffel Tower light show.
In Hong Kong, nightly at 8:00, there is a multimedia display of coloured lights, laser beams and searchlights on 44 buildings on both sides of Victoria Harbour. Maybe this is the beginning for us? I wonder if other buildings will join in? It’s not actually as cheesey as it sounds.
WBer…
Yes, the buildings is not very nice. I had forgotten the lights blink. Yes, I know remember the random strobe effect we watched from the boat. Not the most interesting view in NYC…

FG/TGL is correct – the lights (LEDs) slowly shift between a few different colors. Roughly every 20 to 30 seconds it morphs from one color to another. Every so often the soft fade stops and the lights start blinking on and off (randomly).
Design-wise, it might be the most interesting thing about the building.
What do I win for knowing the artist? The installation was designed by Anne Militello of Vortex Lighting. She’s better known for lighting the facade of the New 42nd Street Studio Building in NY. And no, I’m not her agent.
