After well over a year of wallowing in its own eyesoreness, the synagogue at Kent and Hewes in South Williamsburg finally started getting its outer coat earlier this week, according to the tipster who had the presence of mind to snap these photos while refueling at the adjacent gas station. The eyewitness reports that, in addition to the layer of stucco being applied to the exterior, the windows are even getting some Bricolage-esque lintels added to them. Think they’ll stop here or spring for a paint job? We wonder what finally got the powers-that-be off their ass.

  1. (oops, I found this on the computer of guest 1:32, it somehow didn’t got in the post)

and, not only are they the worst drivers, they are the worst people, period!!
Boy, where is Hitler when I need him most

  2. Yawn. How did I know that this thread would deteriorate into a round of accusations about Anti-Semitism? Just because you criticize someone who happens to be Jewish does not make you a virulent anti-semite. Get used to it.

Also, duh, you don’t think that poster was trying to bait you now, maybe?

And for the record, the Brooklyn-based Chasidim are the WORST drivers. Worse than livery drivers. They have no use for traffic laws. I drive on Flushing all the time, so I know. That seems to demonstrate a certain disposition toward community-mindedness.

    So sue me.

  3. Hasidim do not break the law more often than the average person, and likely break the law far less.

With murders, rapes, robberys, and thefts still problems in Brooklyn, are people really that concerned about a building code violation and an unlicensed school. If so, I can find about a million problems to occupy your time.
