Here at the Brooklyn Record, we try to eat healthy. We really do. But the deep-fried goodness (and great beer selection) at the Atlantic Chip Shop is one of our guilty pleasures. And just when we thought those guys couldn’t find anything else to toss into a vat of oil, they went ahead an battered up a slice of pizza. SliceNY’s video of the process is pretty fascinating, but if you can’t blast up the audio at work, check out highlights after the jump…

When Atlantic Chip Shop owner is asked how he came up with the idea to deep-fry pizza, he shakes his head, almost somberly, and says, “Scotland. Crazy Scots. They deep-fry everything.” Then, Adam Kuban of SliceNY samples the pizza and gives it a very positive review. He seems rather surpsied as he says, “It’s like a pizza pocket and a mozzarella stick all in one, with a really great fluffy, light batter. It’s pretty good!” Hmmm… is Chip Shop open for lunch?
