How Brooklyn Works: Trash Pick Up Event at Brooklyn Historical Society

You may not love trash, but you probably love that it gets systematically removed from your doorstep. TED Talk presenter, New York City Department of Sanitation anthropologist-in-residence and author of Picking Up Robin Nagle really likes trash.

The Brooklyn Historical Society and oddities compendium Atlas Obscura have partnered to present Nagle and a panel of sanitation workers so you, too, can learn the stinky and fascinating process by which this city’s streets are kept clean.

The event, called How Brooklyn Works: Trash Pick-Up, takes place 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thurday, September 17 at the Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont Street. Tickets are $10 ($5 for Historical Society Members).

Trash may be gross but it is very important.
